Shoe Customs
I’ve been customizing shoes since 2019. Some have been commissions, and some I made for family members. Having customers ask me to work on customs is great, but the true practice comes from making shoes for my kids. I take a lot of chances and do a lot of experimenting. Taking risks in art - or in life - isn’t always easy, but I’ve also learned that it’s one of the best ways to grow, both as an artist and a person. Experimenting and taking chances has allowed me to work with several styles of shoes. Customizing is an artform, and the shoe is my canvas. When they are worn (which they are designed to be!), they reflect my talent as an artist. I take pride in each pair I make with careful preparation, precision and attention to detail.
For Custom Orders -
To make a custom order please fill contact me with details of what you would like me to make. Keep in mind that the best shoes to customized are shoes with smooth leather surfaces or canvas. Not all parts of the shoe can be customized or should be customized which includes the midsole which is the rubber part on the lower part of the shoe. Yes I paint the Nike sign on AF 1’s but I add a hardener to make sure its durable but ultimately it could scratch off if given enough force.
Shoe customizing is a process and takes me at least 15-20 hours to complete a shoe from start to finish depending on the design. The preparation alone needs to be done in order for the paint to adhere to the shoe so it wont fade, crack or scrape off. Most people think the finisher at the end is what makes the shoe durable but that is not true.
-For ordering, I take the price of the shoe as a down payment or you can ship me the shoe. I do not work with used shoes for custom work. I take paypal, venmo, cash app and zelle.
-Please allow at least 3 weeks for shoes to be customized as I do have other orders that I need to get to beforehand. If I get them done sooner I will let you know and I always keep in contact and updated about the progress.
-Custom orders start at $125 on top of the price of the shoe. This may seem expensive but compared to other customizers, its not. My art is full of great detail and is fully wearable. I try not to recreate shoes I have made in the past and I do like to start with a new idea. But if you do prefer a custom I have made before, I can definitely make another pair for you.
-After payment is sent for the down payment, I’ll confirm receiving the shoe and when I’ll start working on it. I collect the rest of the payment of the shoe after it is done. I do not give refunds after the down payment has been sent as I have been burned in the past for customers deciding against an order when I have already started to work on the shoe. No exceptions.
